AAA has developed an online course for parents of teens who are — or soon will be — learning to drive. The StartSmart Online Parent Sessions draws on AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety research to prepare you to navigate your teen's learning-to-drive experience. This two-hour webinar explains the licensing process and parents' role. It demonstrates how to reinforce what your teen is learning in driver education and how to maximize the practice driving you'll do with your teen. Teaching essential elements of safe driving in an interactive and innovative way, this online program aims to ensure that safe driving habits are developed and maintained for life.

A registration fee specified during registration will be charged to the STUDENT. This fee includes all required instructional materials and needs to be paid prior to course completion.
AAA, hereafter referred to as the COURSE PROVIDER, offers a course composed of 14 training units spanning 30 hours of instruction.
The STUDENT agrees to complete all phases of the curriculum in order to receive a completion certificate. Any time missed must be made up. The COURSE PROVIDER is prohibited from issuing a client completion form if the STUDENT has not met all the requirements for course completion and a STUDENT shall not accept a completion form under such circumstances.
STUDENT may be required to pay fees to COURSE PROVIDER if through no fault of COURSE PROVIDER, STUDENT requests a duplicate and/or reissue of the original certificate of completion.
The STUDENT agrees that they may not be certified or given credit for the course unless they score 80% or higher on the final exam. Alternative testing techniques for students with reading, hearing or learning handicaps and policies for re-testing students who score less than 80% will be a) review of material; b) translation, if necessary or possible; and c) re-testing, verbally if necessary.
The STUDENT agrees that HE/SHE, and not any other person, will study the material in its entirety and complete the chapter quizzes and the final exam. It is illegal to attempt to circumvent this online state-approved course or provide false information. If the COURSE PROVIDER discovers that the STUDENT has willfully misrepresented himself or has cheated, the STUDENT will be stopped from taking the course with no refund of the registration fees. In addition, the STUDENT may be prosecuted for perjury and other criminal acts which are punishable by law.
For AAA Northern California:
A full refund, minus a $10 processing fee, will be made to any student who cancels the enrollment contract within 15 days of registering for the course and prior to attempting the final examination. The COURSE PROVIDER will terminate, without notice, the enrollment of any student who has not successfully completed the course within 180 days. All registration fees paid are due and refundable when the course of instruction is discontinued by the COURSE PROVIDER, preventing a student from completing the course, or the enrollment of the student was procured as a result of any misrepresentation in advertising, promotional materials of the COURSE PROVIDER, or representation made by the owner or employee of the COURSE PROVIDER. All refunds will be issued within 30 days following receipt of a permissible request for cancellation.
For AAA Southern California (Auto Club Enterprises):
Members are provided three business days from the time of purchase to call the Member Service Center at (844) 306-1421 during business hours** to cancel the entire program package (in car lessons plus online AAA How-To-Drive course) without incurring fees. Program cancellations cannot be completed through the Student Portal. Please see "Schedule of Fees" in your Autoclub Driving School agreement for further information regarding fees after the three-business day grace period. No refunds for cancelling in car lessons after one year from the Enrollment Date.
The AAA How-To-Drive course is considered active as soon as you register or use the activation code on the AAA How-To-Drive website. Except for the refund for cancellation of the entire program package during the 3 business day grace period, no other online course refunds will be issued after course activation. The online course will be terminated, without notice, if not completed within 180 calendar days.
We will process refunds within 5 business days after cancellation. If you paid by check, please contact us if you have not received a refund check within 10 days of cancellation. If you paid by credit card, please contact your bank or credit card provider if you do not receive the refund in 2 billing cycles from cancellation.
**Cancellations, reschedules, transfers and location changes must be received during Member Service Center business hours: Monday–Friday 8am to 7pm Pacific Time (PT) and Saturday 8am to 5 pm PT. Alternatively, members may cancel or reschedule their in-car lessons by using the online Student Portal at any time.
The COURSE PROVIDER is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. The COURSE PROVIDER collects information from its users at several different points on the website. The COURSE PROVIDER will not use or sell this information to promote products or services unrelated to this traffic safety course or in ways different from what is disclosed in the Privacy Statement.
STUDENT represents and warrants that the user information and registration information provided by STUDENT is true and correct, and acknowledges that the truth and accuracy of such information is a material inducement to COURSE PROVIDER in permitting STUDENT to enroll in the course. STUDENT further acknowledges and agrees that any willful or intentional misrepresentation by STUDENT regarding such user information or registration information constitutes a breach of this agreement and of the representations and warranties by STUDENT as provided in this agreement, and may subject student to liability for damages incurred by COURSE PROVIDER as a result thereof, including but not limited to general, consequential, and punitive damages.
STUDENT acknowledges and agrees that the liability of COURSE PROVIDER and their agents and employees for any act, omission to act, or negligence on the part of COURSE PROVIDER and their agents and employees, is strictly limited to and shall not exceed the amount of the registration fee actually paid by STUDENT.

We may disclose personally identifiable information about you to persons or organizations within or outside of the AAA Federation as permitted or required by law including companies that perform marketing services for us or with whom we have joint marketing agreements. These agreements allow us to extend the value of your membership or provide you with special savings. Information will normally be limited to name, address, telephone number, membership or customer number and Club tenure. Under certain circumstances, additional information will be provided to appropriate third parties with your consent or at your direction, such as when you apply for a loan, request a quote for insurance or, as necessary, to perform other services. Information will also be disclosed, if necessary, to effect, administer or enforce a transaction, benefit or service that you have requested or authorized or to which you are entitled. This includes such information as the description, location and license number of your vehicle, as well as your telephone contact number and other information deemed necessary to provide you with emergency road service. Information may be shared among the Club's corporate affiliates and subsidiaries, other AAA Clubs and the AAA National Office. In compliance with federal regulations, we maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards designed to guard and prevent misuse of your nonpublic personal information.
