As our teens set out on their journey of independence they need a solid foundation of knowledge, skills and plans to reduce their risk behind the wheel. Quality driver education is a critical element in developing safe driving attitudes, improving hazard recognition and managing visibility, time and space in traffic.
Welcome to the AAA How to Drive Course. This course is a component of the Maine blended driver education program offered by your driving school and approved by the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles. This course is a prerequisite to attending the final in-person test administered by your local driving school. To register please use the dropdown menu to select the local driving school that you attend. If your driving school is not listed, please contact them and inquire if they offer the blended program before registering.
The AAA How to Drive Online course is self-paced and the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles requires that you complete the course and pass the online final exam prior to attending the in-person BMV final exam. The online final exam requires a score of 80% or higher to pass and can be taken as many times as needed. Upon successfully completing the online final exam, a certificate of completion can be downloaded and must be presented to the driving school you are enrolled in. Your driving school will file your online completion certificate in your student file for the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
